Usually yes, and usually it's the better call. The wood is rarely the problem. Springs, cables, rollers and hinges are what fail, and every one of those is replaceable without touching the door itself.
Almost always the springs. Pull the red cord to disconnect the opener, then lift the door by hand. A balanced door stays put where you leave it at waist height. If it drops or fights you, the springs have lost tension and the opener has been carrying the difference.
