Foster City was built on Brewer Island, a diked salt-marsh pasture. The first residents moved in on 7 March 1964 and the city incorporated on 27 April 1971. Water gets under my garage door in Foster City. What fixes that?
A new bottom seal, and it's an inexpensive part. The rubber astragal along the base hardens and splits over years of sun, and once it stops touching the slab, a level driveway draining toward the opening pushes water straight under. Where the slab itself has settled unevenly, a threshold seal bonded to the concrete closes the gap the door can't.
Is an insulated garage door worth it in Foster City?
Usually yes here, because the garages are attached at grade and share a wall with heated rooms. An insulated door changes the temperature of that space and the rooms next to it. On a detached garage at the end of a lot it buys very little, and we'll tell you that instead of selling you the upgrade.
